Can I create document themes?

The Theme feature is useful for consistently stylizing your diagram without applying the same look over and over to each individual object. You can apply one of our preset themes, or create your own. Each theme applies a tasteful blend of colors, lines, outlines, and text styles to a selected diagram.

To access and preview these themes, click on the preset theme button right to of editor:

Creating and applying your own theme:

  1. Start by styling an object or line with colors, gradients, borders, styles, text, etc.
  2. Open Theme menu that is left of the editor.
  3. Click "Set default"
  1. New theme defaults will appear in the Theme panel.
  2. Click the "Apply all" icon in the graphic panel to apply to existing objects

This only half works.

Firstly: Why is "Set Default" Greyed Out? I thought it wasn't active for a while.

Secondly: I would like my theme to apply my font Sizes and BOLD settings. Even if I copy a style from one of my shapes and paste it on to another shape it won't apply my font size and Boldness.

And, if I drag an Org Chart on to my page, you would think it would apply my theme to the shapes (But No).

Hi Karl,

Thanks for posting in the community with your questions! To answer your questions, first, I apologize that having "Set Default" greyed out is misleading. I can see how that would be confusing!

Next, if you set the font, text size, and boldness on your diagram before using it to set the defaults, those features will be applied to any additions that you make to your diagram.

Finally, adding an org chart to a document where you have the defaults set will update the org chart to match the theme. If this change does not happen automatically, you can manually click "Apply All" and have the changes made!

So what you are saying is that the top row of settings are defaults (Didn't Know That) and they have overriding control over my theme and shapes? Why would you do that?

If, on my default shape for an organisational chart the Name is 8pt normal, and their Role is 6pt BOLD and I save that as part of my default theme, it doesn't remember this information and if I then "apply to all" it reverts the text back to the defaults in the top row. Do you see how this is inadequate?
