Floor plan wall length / grid line

I’m using the iOS app on a12” iPad Pro. When using the grid lines on a floor plan, the wall lengths do not correlate in any with the grid lines. There is no 1 to 1 (one square = 1 foot) or 1 to 2 (1 square = 2 foot and one large block = 10 foot). So what is even the point of the grid lines then? The wall measurements don’t display correctly as they will change based upon the internal or external dimensions, so I have no way of simply depicting precise measurements along the wall to place objects.

Either the wall lengths need to match up to the grid lines, or i need to be able to free hand draw the walls based off of the grid lines without any wall measurement numbers being visible.

Hi Kole,

Thanks for your post. You are able to set grid spacing according to your needs within your Settings menu. This Help Center article about the Lucidchart iOS 12 app shows how you can access this page. Additionally, the floor plan library does include a scale tool that allows you to set the default unit as meters or feet for your scale, and you can then set your scale to the appropriate proportions in those units. However, this is currently only available in the browser version of Lucidchart. I hope this helps!

Cross posting from another thread - using the web version of LucidChart, how to set a correct wall length?

OMG this is hilarious.  So fond of LucidChart...and this is such a glaring omission.  I can size furniture with the shape tool, but can't size walls.  All the messages of "We can't duplicate this issue" --> start a default floor plan, drag a wall on to the page, and define it's length as 35", 77", or 8' 2".  Let us know the menu option for that *without* dragging an snapping to an unselectable dimension.  Pfft.

YES, I cannot figure out how to place an object and type in the dimensions. Dragging and snapping is driving me crazy. Going to see if Sketch lets me type dimensions in...
