How to stop auto-alphabetizing?

I'm using the Org Chart layout with a Data Import from a CSV.

In my CSV, I have the elements in the exact order I want them to be generated in.

When I import the CSV, the Org Chart is generated with everything in alphabetical order and not in the order I defined in the CSV.

Is there a way to turn off the alpha sort?

I understand that an Org Chart would normally need to be alphabetized, but in my case I'm using the Org Chart to generate a website sitemap. The other templates did not provide the visual design that I needed.

Can someone help?

Or can someone recommend another template I can use that won't alpha sort - but will let me do a data import from a CSV with ID, Parent ID, and multiple metadata fields per item/row?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for reaching out to the Lucid community! It is not possible to overrule this formatting feature in org charts, and unfortunately we do not have any other templates that allow you to import CSVs and have them automatically formatted in the way that you described. To pass this idea to our product development team, please add it to this feature request form. Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for reaching out to Lucid support. I'm sorry for the trouble that you are having with your CSV import and am happy to help. First, so that I can get a better idea of what you are experiencing with the auto-alphabetizing, do you mind sending me a screenshot of what that looks like? Thank you!

Hi there Abby! Wow - thank you so much for your reply.

Well, here it goes!

Here is what I have in the spreadsheet that I export as a CSV. Note that the first child node should be REVISION SUMMARY:

When I import the CSV to the Org Chart template, the first child node is AUTHENTICATION AND AUTHORIZATION, which in my CSV should be the 7th child node. It appears that this template is ignoring the order in the CSV and is automatically alphabetizing the nodes:

I can absolutely understand why an Org Chart template would do this.

But I'm using the template to generate a sitemap for a website, so the alpha is not what I want.

If getting the Org Chart to stop alphabetizing isn't possible - can you suggest a different template I can use that works similarly to the Org Chart in that I can upload my data in a CSV with multiple fields, including an ID and parent ID?

Thank you for any help you can provide!
