Lost a Document after Saving As

Hi,

I tried using a Document I already had to make a new one. After I clicked on Save As to save the new one with changes I went back and the old document had been saved with these changes also. How do I get the other one back? I never clicked save on it. Did it auto save? Now after hitting save as I can't undo to go back to how it was before.

Hi Katie,

Yes, Lucidchart does save automatically, so all of your documents will update as you make changes to them.  If you're currently on a professional account level or above, you can use the revision history to go back and restore the document to past versions.

Hope this helps!

Hey Audrey, if your work is lost, there are a few things you can do:

  • It is easy to accidentally delete documents. Could you please check that the documents aren’t in your trash?
  • Your documents might be hiding in your browser history. If you carefully look through your browser history when you last worked on the document, you might be able to find it. If you are able to find it please send us the URL and that could help us track it down.
  • The document(s) may still be there. Can you double check that you're in the correct account? Sometimes users will use single sign on while signed into a different email account, which can produce errors. I suggest that you make sure you've checked any and all Lucidchart accounts that might be under your email address(es). We would be happy to check any email addresses in our system that you are unsure of.

If none of these options work, please contact us here with the document URL if possible. We may be able to locate the document that way. Thanks!
