Hi, we have recently update our Swimlane tutorial to include instructions on how to resize a swim lane. You need to change the size from either the bottom or the side, but not both at the same time. Cheers!
Grateful if anyone can help me - I can adjust size (height) of swim lanes?

The swimlanes do expand to fit the objects completely inside of it. If you need to resize swimlanes then an object straddling two swimlanes will need to temporarily be in one swimlane or the other. We will look into options that would allow an object to stay between the two however we don't anticipate modifying that soon. In regards to the line color auto-expand issue, I have not been able to recreate it. Could you fill out this form with a JPEG of the before change the line color and after?
Can you please share the url and I'll take a look (via this form)? This should be helpful to explain, the video was great so thanks for that.
Here are the instructions:
Click File/Options/Advanced. Scroll down to General. Check 'Run in developer mode'.
In the title of each swimlane, click Show ShapeSheet.
In the User-defined Cells section, find User.msvSDContainerMargin. In the Value Column type 0.
After this is complete, you can edit the width/depth of each swimlane without Visio moving things around randomly.
The trouble we're running into is easily resizing swim lanes and maintaining scale between the lanes. In other words I want to resize a 4-lane setup and maintain the same width with all lanes.
Hi Dane,
Thanks for the post. Currently there isn't a way to change the width of all lanes at once. This is a great feature request though. Would you mind submitting your idea in our Feature Request form? Please let me know if there is anything else we can help with.
