Migrating Between the Lucidchart Editor and Confluence OnPrem

NOTICE: Lucidchart will be ceasing support for Lucidchart OnPrem for Confluence on January 6, 2021. For more information, please contact Lucidchart at support+atlassian@lucidchart.com or refer to these FAQs.

If you are migrating between the Lucidchart web editor and Lucidchart OnPrem for Confluence Server, your Lucidchart documents will not automatically move with you. However, you can transfer your Lucidchart documents by exporting them as VDX files and importing them into the Lucidchart editor or the app for OnPrem. See the steps below for an overview of this process.

The first step for migrating your documents from Lucidchart OnPrem to the Lucidchart web editor and vice versa is to download your Lucidchart documents as VDX files. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Open up a diagram within the Lucidchart editor or in the app for OnPrem.
  2. Navigate to File > Download As.
  3. Select Visio (VDX) and click Download.
Please see the Export Your Documents Help Center article for more detailed instruction.
Once you have downloaded your files from Lucidchart OnPrem, you can import them into the Lucidchart web editor for the Lucidchart Cloud Connector for Confluence Server or Cloud. To do so, follow the steps in the Import Files Help Center article.
Once you have downloaded your files from the Lucidchart wed editor, you can upload them into OnPrem by following the steps in our Lucidchart OnPrem for Confluence Help Center article.
